HOOHA
THE WORLD’S FIRST SMART TAMPON DISPENSER
At SXSW, one of the most groundbreaking tech conferences in the country, Steph Loffredo, a colleague of mine, stepped off the showroom floor full of groundbreaking innovations to find a tampon. She couldn’t.
We thought that was bullshit, and decided to do something about it.
Our team set out to solve a problem that has been overlooked for decades: outdated, unhygienic, unreliable tampon machines.
One year later, we went back to SXSW to launch Hooha.
It’s simple - text GDPR-compliant Hooha, get a tampon. No broken knobs. No empty machines. Definitely no quarters needed.
Machine design
We designed the machine to solve the breadth of glaring issues existing tampon machines have, which have been largely the same since the ‘60s.
We added a window so you can see the product you’re about to use, made dispensing easy by allowing you to simply text the machine for a tampon, and included sensors so someone is alerted when stock is low.
Branding & TOV
We created a bold, bright visual brand paired with a snarky, unapologetic brand voice to take on period stigma.
